I surprised this homeless Elf and the result was a Christmas Miracle. 🎄🎁
When Patricia called me, I could hear the distress in her voice. She and her husband tried offering the little homeless dog food and water, but he kept running away from them. They have been supporting Hope For Paws for two years, so they knew to call us for help, and I rushed to the location immediately.
Little Elf was standing on the road, so I first encouraged him to move to the sidewalk, and as a thank-you, I gave him a cheeseburger. He was a little nervous and wouldn't eat from my hand, so I had to use the Gentle Snare.
This magical tool is an extension of my arm. It gives the dogs the confidence to get close to me, without being too close. Their false sense of security gives me the split-second opportunity to capture them and change their lives.
The other day, on my way to another rescue, I was thinking about the days when a double cheeseburger cost $ 2.50, so for $5 I could buy two and complete a mission with them, but prices sure have changed, and now for $5 I can only get one. Unfortunately, the same is true for everything else - from veterinary care to dog food. These changes require us to find new supporters who join the Hope For Paws team so we can continue at full speed.
If you can, please join us today with a small Christmas donation, or ask your family members/friends to join us too. The more people on our team, the more lives we can save together.
With your support, we hope to never be in a position where we couldn't say YES to an animal in need because we don't have the funds for medical care.
Thank you so much for being a part of the Hope For Paws team along with Loreta, Katie, Kai, Justin, Chris, Bradley, and me.
Have a lovely Christmas! 😊
