Kai
Rescue Assistant
Aloha, I'm Kai. I've had animals my entire life, but my journey in animal rescue began in 2005 when I started volunteering as a dog walker at a no-kill humane society. Within a few short months, I realized that dedicating just one day a week wasn’t enough—I wanted to do more for homeless animals. This passion ultimately led me to leave my corporate job and commit full-time to animal welfare.
In 2008, I met Eldad while working at a rescue organization where he volunteered. In every urgent situation, he was the one who stepped up—decisive, dependable, and always ready to act when lives were at stake. Over the years, I’ve volunteered and worked with six different rescues and humane societies, gaining a broad perspective on animal rescue operations. In my experience, Hope For Paws does the most for animals that otherwise have no "hope."
Assisting on rescue missions and witnessing the transformation in the animals we save has been incredibly rewarding. Connecting with our compassionate community of supporters has also been a joy. I look forward to continuing this vital work and engaging with many more of you.
In my free time, I enjoy having adventures with my rescue dogs Raven and Zimi, being in nature, studying astrology and crystal healing, creating vegan versions of food that I grew up with, enjoying music, and binging on Netflix.
