Meet Marcel — the sweetest little “meerkat” you’ll ever meet! Marcel’s journey hasn’t been easy, but his spirit has stayed bright and full of love. He first came to our attention thanks to Hope For Paws, who were trying to rescue him after finding him living on the streets of McFarland. Before they could safely catch him, animal control stepped in and brought him to the McFarland Animal Shelter — and we knew we still had to save this boy! Marcel arrived with a skin condition caused by demodex mange, but don’t worry — it’s very treatable and curable. With proper care, he’s already improving beautifully. Otherwise, he’s in perfect health and thriving in his foster home. At about 4 years old and a terrier mix (with definite meerkat vibes!), Marcel is the full package: -Wiggly -Affectionate -Gentle -Happy -Calm -Well-behaved -Loving He has been nothing but a dream in foster care. Marcel is incredibly dog-friendly, crate-trained, and perfectly potty trained — not a single accident in the house! His manners are wonderful, and his heart is even better.
